McCall Scholarship

Gwinnett County Swim League has long been known for its great recreational summer league swim teams. It is a labor of love and run solely on the time and efforts of volunteers. One family who has given over 25 years of service to their own swim team and to the league as a whole is the McCall family.

Christy McCall ran the Hidden Falls Rapids swim team for over 20 years and participated as an active board member for over 15 years as Vice President of GCSL – continuing her dedication long after her children had aged out of the league. Her family has helped countless children learn how to swim and to fall in love with the sport. They have been loyal volunteers during the County Championship for years, providing one of the best hospitality rooms for officials, coaches, and volunteers. Christy and her family are unmatched in the amount of passion and commitment they have given to the swim community, and their legacy will live on for years to come.

Applicants for this scholarship must have graduated in 2024 from a high school, swam with Gwinnett County Swim League, and must be enrolled in a secondary school for the fall of 2024. They will need to complete all areas of the application and submit a 300-word essay about their own community service and the impact summer league swimming has had on them. The application opens June 1st, and the deadline for all entries is June 30th.

The winner will be announced at the Friday evening session of the Gwinnett County Championship Meet.
